The 90th Academy Awards are on in full swing at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and while the clock is ticking down to the award ceremony, all the action is on the red carpet. We give you the lowdown on the highlights from the red carpet.

Rita Moreno brings out real retro

‘West Side Story’ and ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ actress Rita Moreno brought out real retro as she recycled her 1962 Oscars dress 56 years later for the 2018 Academy Awards. Rita Moreno is one of only 12 people in history to have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. She made her return to the Oscars red carpet in serious style. The 86-year-old actress, singer, and dancer walked the red carpet wearing the exact same dress she wore to accept her Oscar in 1962 for ‘West Side Story’.

Wakanda forever!

Chadwick Boseman is making waves worldwide with his latest blockbuster ‘Black Panther’. The actor flaunted his jacket with some flair on it. Chadwick was all smiles as he spoke on the red carpet. Notably, he presented the award for Best Feature to Jordan Peele’s ‘Get Out’ at the 33rd Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday night. Bookending his interaction, Chadwick struck the Black Panther pose on the red carpet and shouted out “Wakanda forever!”

Ashley Judd and Mira Savino arrive together as they represent Time’s Up

Two ladies who have been at the forefront of the fight against Harvey Weinstein and sexual harassment in Hollywood in general, Ashley Judd and Mira Savino arrived at the red carpet together. Judd, who is presenting at the ceremony, stunned in a deep purple gown with a sweetheart neckline, while Sorvino looked as if she walked out of a fairytale in a one-shouldered blush dress complete with intricate floral details.

Nominated in the categories Best Actress in a Leading Role and Best Actor in a Leading Role respectively at the 90th Annual Academy Awards, Margot Robbie and Timothée Chalamet arrived at the red carpet with their mothers. Margot is nominated for her spectacular performance as Tonya Harding in ‘I, Tonya’, whereas Timothée is nominated for playing a teenaged boy in ‘Call Me by Your Name’.

‘Call Me by Your Name’ screenwriter James Ivory wears a shirt with Timothée Chalamet’s face on it

Timothée Chalamet is at the Oscars tonight in more ways than one. The ‘Call Me by Your Name’ nominee’s face is on the shirt of the film’s screenwriter, James Ivory. The 89-year-old Ivory, previously nominated three times as the director of ‘A Room with a View’, ‘Howards End’, and ‘The Remains of the Day’, has had a successful awards season so far. He won both the BAFTA and Critics’ Choice Awards for his screenplay and arrived at the Oscars widely tipped to win again.

Meryl Streep and Allison Janney rock the red carpet in red gowns

Nominated in the category of the Best Actress in a Leading Role for the film 'The Post', Meryl Streep made an appearance in a red gown. This was her 21st nomination at the Academy Awards out of which she has won on three occasions.

While Allison Janney who was nominated in the category of 'Best Actress in a Supporting Role' for 'I, Tonya' also chose to wear a beautiful red gown. The actress won the award.
