India comes calling for Hollywood celebs

India seems to be calling out to the international fraternity of artists who make it point to come to India at least once in their lifetime. While Skrillex performed to a huge crowd in Delhi NCR in October, Hollywood heartthrob, Leonardo Di Caprio, was also spotted at the Taj Mahal recently. While Priyanka Chopra has been taking over the billboards in New York, having featured in TV show, Quantico, it seems that western artistes are eyeing India for work and more. The Wolf of Wall Street star, Leonardo DiCaprio, was spotted in Delhi and Agra, reportedly for the making of a documentary film on climate change. The film will explore the crisis of our time in a way that has never been tried before. Leonardo, reportedly landed in India on October 29, for a four-day visit to meet Sunita Narain of the Centre for Science and Environment, who is a Padma Shri awardee and the director general of the CSE, the director of the Society for Environmental Communications.

Arnold Schwarzenegger aka The Terminator made Chennaiites go crazy when he suddenly announced to that he has come all the way for a job interview with the director of the film, I. The actor attended the music launch of Shankar’s blockbuster I and expressed his wish to be cast by him in his film, sometime in the future. Not only this, he also invited the noted director to witness the making of Conan The King, the latest flick in the Conan series.

American EDM artist, Skrillex, performed to an uncontrolled crowd in Gurgaon. However, this left one female guest dead allegedly due to suffocation. The dubstep king, who greeted the audience with a warm ‘Namaste,’ set the stage on fire with his hit numbers, ‘Make It bun,’ ‘First day of’ and ‘Where are you.’ The artist was performing in India for the first time but little did he expect the crowd to go berserk the way it did.

One of the biggest thrash metal bands, Megadeth is all set to perform in India. While listening live to Metallica, Anthrax and Slayer may not be on the cards at present, Megadeth will be performing on stage in Bengaluru, Shillong and Kolkata as part of Bacardi NH7 Weekender besides the Harley Rock Riders festival in Mumbai, as reported by IANS.
