When Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announced their engagement on Instagram on August 26, but according to the latest reports, the couple kept the happy news a secret.
According to Travis' father, Ed Kelce, the biggest 'Love Story' making waves around the world, actually happened two weeks ago. “Travis actually did the proposal, oh, maybe two weeks ago, not quite two weeks ago,” Ed told News 5.

He even said that his son was going to 'put it off' till this week, to make some grand gesture in a big event, but on Ed said, "I told him repeatedly, you know, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event… when you get down on one knee and ask her to marry you."


Taylor's father, Scott Swift, also advised him to keep it simple.

How Travis popped the question to Taylor

In the end, Travis chose something in between. Going by the pictures, the hunk popped the question amidst a perfectly staged setting amidst flowers, in the backyard of their love nest.

Fans share their proposal theories

Fans soon took to social media to react to the post sharing their theories about the day of the proposal. Some believed that Travis proposed to Swift on the day they filmed their podcast together.

"Wait HOLD ON, taylor and travis filmed the podcast episode on august 10 where travis said the most romantic things ive ever heard someone say to taylor, and then they got dressed and went to dinner where travis led her out to a beautiful garden & proposed LIKE?????" one fan tweeted.

"Based on when the podcast was recorded and Travis proposing right before they went out for dinner...it seems like Travis proposed to Taylor hours after the New Heights podcast was recorded," said another.

Fans were also convinced that Travis and Taylor got engaged in their backyard. Sharing pictures they said, "Thanks to Papa Kelce, the Swiftie detectives already figured it out. So, now I’ll share. The KC house backyard."

Travis' dad recalled the newly engaged couple calling him to share the good news. He said, "Moments later, phones lit up. They started FaceTiming me and their mother and her folks to make sure everybody knew. As soon as I saw the FaceTime, I knew what they were gonna say."

Days after the engagement, their families came together for dinner at Travis’ home. “They’re just two young people very much in love, cast in a spotlight they really haven’t sought. But to watch the two of them together… it’s truly kinda neat," said the proud dad.
