Jonathan Majors, best known for playing the role of Kang in the Marvel Cinematic universe, has taken on a new acting project, four years after his infamous assault conviction. The title and plot have not yet been released, but reports describe it as an action movie.
According to reports, the actor has commenced shooting for the film in South Carolina, officially marking his comeback after a halted career. Following the controversy over the assault allegations and subsequently being found guilty, Majors lost out on several acting roles and offers. Marvel Studios famously changed the planned Multiverse Saga after dropping him as the supervillain Kang, who was set to feature in both the upcoming 'Avengers' movies.
More about Jonathan Majors’ upcoming film
According to Daily Wire, the upcoming film is written and directed by Kyle Rankin, producers include Ben Shapiro for Daily Wire and Dallas Sonnier for Bonfire Legend. Shapiro took to social media Thursday to react to the news about the film with his post, “You’re not going to BELIEVE what we’re doing.”
Jonathan Majors’ downfall after ‘found guilty’
Majors’ career was motoring following roles in movies such as ‘The Last Black Man in San Francisco,’ ‘Creed III,’ ‘Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania,’ and ‘Magazine Dreams,’ as well as the horror series ‘Lovecraft Country,’ but he was dropped from numerous projects after being found guilty in 2023 of assaulting his former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. After his conviction, Majors was dropped by Marvel as villain Kang the Conqueror and also let go from the starring role of Dennis Rodman in Lionsgate’s '48 Hours in Vegas' ahead of production.
The actor has been rebuilding since then and is also attached to star in the supernatural revenge thriller ‘Merciless’ from Martin Villeneuve. Previously, Majors starred in the bodybuilding drama Magazine Dreams, which was a sensation at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival.Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the
