Shojo anime fans have gotten disappointing news as 'Haigakura', an anime adaptation of the 2008 manga, has announced an indefinite hiatus following Episode 7. On November 18, 2024, the anime's official website posted a statement explaining the reasons behind the postponement and what will replace the show's time slot for the time being. The statement reveals 'Haigakura' premiered on October 7, 2024; however, after deliberating with the production team and the production committee, mainly with the production company Typhoon Graphics, it was mutually decided that the anime needs time to keep up the quality that will come to be in the anime. In order to not waste its charm and production standard, the production team decided to put the series on hold from Episode 7. Apologetic staffs to fans, original author Shinobu Takayama, publisher Ichijinsha, and all collaborating artists and companies for causing inconvenience by this break.

This statement added that the new broadcast schedule will be available on the official website of the anime as well as its social media account once it is decided. To fill the gap, 'Haigakura' will have a broadcast of reruns from the previous episodes starting from 25 November 2024. The reruns will start with Episode 1 and are already confirmed to run at least up to December 30, 2024. Still, for the fans, there was no clear date for Episode 8 or a total return of the anime to streaming sites.

The final sentence of the statement was that the production crew was trying hard to make the series live up to its potential, and they asked for continued support during this break. 'Haigakura', from creator Shinobu Takayama, is an action-fantasy series about the Kashikan—the special officers who use song and dance to hoard evil gods and keep peace in their world. The main character Ichiyou is a tone-deaf Kashikan whose journey takes him to modern-day Japan.

Already, though still relatively new to the airwaves, the 'Haigakura' manga has gone through one million copies in sales since its launch 15 years ago. The anime adaptation, drawing comparisons to series like 'Saiyuki', 'Tactics', and other bishonen-centric fantasy titles from the early 2000s, quickly gained a cult following among Fall 2024 viewers and shojo anime fans.
