'Greenland 2: Migration' OTT release: Gerard Butler to Morena Baccarin, know all about the cast and characters

Released theatrically on January 9, 2026, 'Greenland 2: Migration' is now available on OTT for streaming. It is the follow-up to the 2020 survival hit that had audiences on the edge of their seats. Directed by Ric Roman Waugh, the film picks up five years after the Clarke comet devastated the Earth, following the Garrity family as they leave the safety of their bunker and embark on a dangerous journey across the ruins of Europe in search of a new home. Gerard Butler returns as John Garrity, the engineer and protective father who must now lead his family across a frozen, lawless wasteland in search of somewhere they can actually live. He is best known for '300', 'Olympus Has Fallen', 'Den of Thieves', and the original 'Greenland', and voiced Stoick in the live-action 'How to Train Your Dragon'. Butler plays the role with the grounded physicality that has made him one of Hollywood's most reliable action leads.

Morena Baccarin returns as Allison Garrity, now a hardened survivor and key decision-maker within the bunker's ruling council, a significant evolution from the mother running from danger in the first film. Known for 'Deadpool', 'Firefly', 'Homeland', and 'Gotham', she brings a quiet confidence to the role that gives Allison a compelling new dimension in the sequel. Baccarin remains one of the most versatile actors working across both film and television.

Roman Griffin Davis steps into the role of Nathan Garrity, replacing Roger Dale Floyd, bringing a five-year-old version of the boy whose diabetes was central to the tension of the original. Best known for his acclaimed breakthrough in 'Jojo Rabbit' alongside Scarlett Johansson and Sam Rockwell, he has since appeared in 'The Long Walk'. Griffin Davis brings the same quiet intensity to Nathan that made his earlier work so striking.

Tommie Earl Jenkins plays General Sharpe: a military figure whose presence adds institutional tension to the survival narrative and suggests a world where power is being contested as much as resources. Recognised for his work in 'Wednesday', 'Death in Paradise', and 'This Is Us', Jenkins brings an authority to the role that makes General Sharpe one of the more interesting new additions to the story. His character pushes the film beyond simple survival into something more politically charged.

The supporting cast includes Trond Fausa as Adam Shaw, Gina Gangar as Elizabeth Price, Antonio De Lima as Charles Williams, Peter Polycarpou as Dr Haugen, and Beruce Khan as Mr Singh, among many others. Together they populate a world five years on from the comet strike, one that is no longer just surviving the apocalypse but actively trying to build something new from its ruins.
