The makers of the film Gandhi To Hitler are all set to sue Anupam Kher for breach of contract. The problem with Kher began when he opted out of playing the Nazi dictator in the film, citing that his fans have appealed to him against playing that role. But not taking it in good taste the producer of the film Dr Anil Kumar Sharma is now suing the actor for Rs. 2.5 crores as damages for breach of contract, before the movie opens in cinemas next week.
Nalin Singh, who is co- producing the film, confirms that he paid Rs 4 lakhs to Kher and that he had signed the contract too. After the production work had started as also the dates were blocked and costumes were designed, Kher announced at a press conference abroad that he wasn't doing the film.
Surprisingly, the producer claims that Kher didn't bother to inform them about it. Singh tried reasoning with the actor to re- consider his decision but things didn't work out between them. While on the other hand, Kher feels that the filmmakers are using his name for publicity and therefore they are bringing up this controversy, just before the release of the film.
