‘How to Train Your Dragon 2’ live-action is already in its pre-production phase, and fans cannot wait for the return of the Vikings and dragons on a brand-new adventure. One of the biggest questions ahead of the release of the second film on everyone’s mind has been about who will be returning and who will be joining the cast list. Here is a look at all of the stars who have been confirmed to return for the second film.

Cate Blanchett

The veteran actress voiced the character of Valka, Hiccup’s long-lost mother and wife of Viking leader Stoick the Vast in the animated film and series. Yes, it has been confirmed that she will be reprising her role in the live-action film, and he'll be making her entry in the second movie.

Olafur Darri Olafsson

The franchise has also found its main villain for the next film, Drago. Actor Olafur Darri Olafsson has been confirmed, as per a report from Deadline, to join the film as the main villain that Hiccup and the gang, along with Toothless and all of the dragons, go against.

Phil Dunster

‘Ted Lasso’ star Phil Dunster has also been confirmed for the upcoming live-action sequel. The star will be voicing Eret’s role, who was Drago’s right-hand man and later had a change of heart after seeing the bond between the dragons and Hiccup’s village. Kit Harington voiced the character in the third film, along with the series.

Mason Thames

Mason claims he has been confirmed to rejoin the sequel film in the leading role as Hiccup. His performance in the first film was heavily praised as we went against the King of Dragons along with Toothless and emerged victorious in the battle.

Veteran actor Gerard Butler will be reprising his role as Toyt the Vast in the upcoming film. He is another one of the voice actors from the original animated films who will be joining the live-action films. The audience can't wait to watch the star on the big screen in the franchise.

Nico Parker from ‘Dumbo’ and ‘Suncoast’ played Astrid’s role in the first film. As per the reports, it has been confirmed that she will be reprising her role. ‘How To Train Your Dragon’ was the star’s big break and one of her first major projects.

Julian Dennison will be playing the role of Fishlegs, who is also one of Hiccup’s best friends in the storyline. Fishlegs was voiced by actor Christopher Mintz-Plasse in the animated film franchise.
