From 'Border' to ‘Gadar’: Five Bhojpuri films that show Indo-Pak relations

Several times, cinema has played a pivotal role in inspiring people and has also been pivotal in mirroring the current state of society. Many filmmakers have used the medium to express their love towards their country and received applause from the audience for the work. Bhojpuri cinema has also seen several movies being made in recent years where the political relations between our country and the neighboring country of Pakistan were portrayed and we must say that there is a huge fan base for such films. Here, we bring to you some of the best Bhojpuri films which speak of the India-Pakistan relations.

'Patna Se Pakistan'

‘Patna Se Pakistan’ is based on a simple man who loses his entire family in a terrorist attack. He begs the government to find the culprit but gets a very cold response in return. So, he decides to take matters into his own hands and goes to Pakistan from Patna to fight with the terrorist organization. In the film, Nirahua and Amrapali Dubey played the lead roles while stars Kajal Raghwani, Ashok Samarth, Manoj Tiger and Sushil Singh were seen in pivotal roles. It was written and directed by Santosh Mishra, produced by Ananjay Raghuraj.

'Maa Tujhe Salaam'

‘Maa Tujhe Salaam’ features one of the hit on-screen pairs of Bhojpuri cinema, Pawan Singh and Akshara Singh. Along with the patriotism angle, the makers have also stressed on the love story between the leads. A great war between India and Pakistan is shown in the film which was penned and directed by Aslam Sheikh. It also features other Bhojpuri stars like Madhu Sharma, Surendra Pal, Manoj Tiger, Ayaz Khan, and Brijesh Tripathi in supporting roles. ‘Maa Tujhe Salaam’ was jointly produced by Abhay Sinha and

'India Vs Pakistan'

The makers of ‘India Vs Pakistan’ have shown the life of army men and how they survive on the border. It features Arvind Akela Kallu in the lead while Nidhi Jha, Nisha Dubey and Priyanka Pandit are in the supporting roles. It was directed by Feroz Khan while music was composed by Madhukar Anand. It also includes other Bhojpuri stars such as Rakesh Mishra, Ritesh Pandey, and Yash Mishra.

‘Gadar’

Pawan Singh and Neha Singh-starrer ‘Gadar’ is a mix of patriotism and a romantic love story. In the film, the actor fights with Pakistani terrorists for his love Neha. The movie also stars other Bhojpuri actors like Nidhi Jha and Sushil Singh in pivotal roles. The film was multi-produced by Bhupendra Vijay Singh, Bablu M. Gupta and Ravi Singh Rajput while it was directed by Ramakant Prasad. The lyrics for songs in the film were penned by actor Pyare Lal Yadav, Vinod Byash and Pawan Pandey.

'Border'

Bhojpuri film 'Border' showcased another war between India and Pakistan and made history as the highest-grossing Bhojpuri film of 2018. The movie was written and directed by Santosh Mishra, and produced by Pravesh Lal Yadav. ‘Border’ features a huge star cast including Dinesh Lal Yadav, Amrapali Dubey, Pravesh Lal Yadav, Aditya Ozha, Vishal Singh, Vikrant Singh Rajpoot, Shubhi Sharma, Awadhesh Mishra, Richa Dixit, Kajal Yadav, Sanjay Pandey, Sushil Singh and Maya Yadav. The music was composed by Rajnish Mishra and the lyricists were Pyare Lal Yadav and Azad Singh.
