Lagnajita looking forward to visiting Bangladesh

Singer Lagnajita Chakraborty, who recently released the song, Durotto, written and composed by Bangladesh-based musician Asif Altaf, is quite happy about the project. “For some reason, I had never sung in any Bangladeshi project, so when this opportunity came to me, I just grabbed it. Besides, Asif is a very talented musician and the song he has created is beautiful,” Lagnajita said.
This project has made Lagnajita quite nostalgic as well. Since her family belongs to the erstwhile East Bengal, she has grown up hearing stories about the country. “My grandfather, an orthodox brahmin, had never told us how much land we owned there,” she added.
Despite all the stories, the singer had never visited the land of her ancestors. “Unlike many of my contemporary singers and musicians, I’ve never done a show there and because of that, I have not been able to visit Bangladesh. I would be really happy if this project gives me the opportunity to visit Bangladesh,” she added.
