Revealed: Bengali celebs and their secrets to 'beat the summer heat'

Come summer and you know you're in for some unbearable scorching heat. In this season, leading a healthy lifestyle is not as simple as it seems. It's time to prepare ourselves, to make some changes in our wardrobe as well as diet and we can learn a lot from the following Tollywood celebs.

Rituparna Sengupta

In order to beat the scorching heat, Rituparna Sengupta reportedly drinks plenty of tender coconut water. It's also been allegedly stated that she sometimes would have jal-jeera or water mixed with salt and sugar (saline water). Curd, fruits and chicken stew form her staple diet. Rose water is apparently Rituparna’s panacea for the skin. Heat takes its toll on hair. So hair spa is her best option to keep it silky and lustrous.

Dev

Dev’s secret to a successful diet is apparently having a meal in 3 hours. He maintains a healthy diet and never misses meals. The dashing actor’s summer diet reportedly includes high protein and low carb foods like chicken and loads of green veggies. In order to escape the scorching heat, he also suggests on having low salt and low oil based food to remain fresh and healthy all day.

Paoli Dam

Paoli Dam largely follows a liquid diet during summer. The Tollywood diva apparently believes limewater, coconut water, watermelon juice and lassi can become lifesavers. During an interview, Paoli once reportedly revealed that she sweats a lot and to keep a check on it she prefers to rub ice cubes on her skin whenever she gets time in between shots. Also, the dusky beauty carries a sunscreen along with her every time she goes out.

Koel Mallick

During summer Koel opts for juice, coconut water and lime water over solid foods when shooting is going on. According to reports, oily and junk foods are a complete no for her. For lunch and dinner, the beautiful actress apparently prefers chicken stew and vegetable to stay fit and healthy. According to her, splashing cold water makes her skin fresh and glowing. For hair, a mild shampoo and conditioner is a must to avoid stickiness.

Srabanti Chatterjee

Srabanti Chatterjee reportedly opts for green tea to detoxify her skin and system. Having nimbu paani and lassi frequently makes her more comfortable when outside. She has a major liking for green chillies and apparently includes them in chicken stew to pamper her taste buds. Her lunch remains incomplete without raita, puffed rice and boiled chana. To keep her skin cool during summers, like Paoli, Srabanti also rubs cold ice and rose water.

Abir’s summer funda is quite simple- drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration and remain fresh. Less oily food and yoghurt keep the actor fit. Taking a shower twice a day to reduce body heat and staying hygienic is a must for the celluloid Byomkesh. Cotton and linen form his favourite fabrics. The actor doesn’t go outside without a pair of sunglasses during summer.

Paayel is crazy for seasonal fruit salads and to beat the extreme summer heat, fruits form her only diet regime. Drinking sufficient water, juice and salty coconut water is a must to stay hydrated, according to Paayel. For lunch, she apparently opts for rice, daal, chicken stew and curd. The Bengali beauty splatters water for soothing her skin. Sunscreen and hair spa also keep her fresh.

The latest sensation of Tollywood, Bonny Sengupta is well aware of the importance of staying cool in summer. So he maintains a strict diet that includes a small amount of red meat, plenty of green vegetables, fresh watermelons and lemon juice. If he is not busy shooting, you would find him in bright coloured t-shirts and cotton shorts.

Sayantika Banerjee

The fitness freak Bengali beauty also prefers to drink sufficient water to beat the soaring temperature. The pretty lady apparently states having seasonal fruits, curd without sugar and juices can fight the heat in a more healthy way. She prefers to wear soothing fabric such as cotton and linen. White, peach and yellow are her summer-friendly colours.

Nusrat Jahan

For Nusrat, staying hydrated remains the first priority in summer. A healthy eating habit including fruits like cucumber, watermelon is the actress’ preferred choice. She stays light on food and green salad to beat the blistering heat. Like Sayantika, Nusrat also opts for cotton and linen in summer, while a sunscreen lotion is a must for her.
