Raj Mukherjee has begun shooting Troyee with Rituparna Sengupta, Priyanshu Chatterjee and Badsha Moitra in Visakhapatnam. Here’s a sneak peek. When Troyee released in 1982, Rituparna Sengupta was still young. Though she vaguely remembers the storyline, she chose not to watch it again before starting to shoot Raj Mukherjee’s thriller of the same name in Visakhapatnam from August 4.

Raj’s film, neither a remake nor a tribute, however, revolves around three people and the relationship of hatred, love and lust between them. Anjali (Rituparna) and Rajiv (Priyanshu Chatterjee) are an unhappy couple living in the former’s house. Rajiv, having lost a lot of money in business, coaxes Anjali to sell the apartment. Willy-nilly Anjali rents out a part of the building to singer Sanjay (Badsha Moitra). Can Sanjay, smitten by Anjali, win her over?

Though the unit shot a couple of emotional scenes at a film studio in Visakhapatnam, there was one romantic song sequences that they had a lot of fun canning. While Priyanshu was supposed to lift Rituparna as part of a scene, there was lack of synchronization that elicited loud guffaws from the actors themselves. The camaraderie got reflected in many other scenes.

Rituparna, who first paired up with Priyanshu in Bhorer Alo, shares a great rapport with her co-star. They also have another comedy, Potadar Kirti, ready for release. “When you work with someone in many films, there’s a certain bond that develops. With Priyanshu around, I’m not just comfortable, but constantly trying to hone my skills. Also, I have a special connect with Troyee as it had one of Chumkidi’s (Debasree Roy) best performances,” said the leading lady.

With two men playing important roles in the movie, there’s a lot of off-screen action as well. The unit members, who lapped up the idli-sambhar meals for the first couple of days, were craving for homemade food after a while. So, Priyanshu made the unit’s cook rustle up ghugni, the Bengali way. Yes, not only Badsha and Priyanshu were seen claiming the lion’s share, they even patted each other for the shuddh desi idea. Rituparna too joined in the fun. Known as a ‘bundle of energy’, there was no dull moment as the actress pepped up the unit’s mood with laughters galore.
