Dev is gearing up for the release of Herogiri

Dev may not have had a good year in 2014 in terms of delivering hits, but the Tolly hunk is looking forward to better times this year. He is, in fact, keeping his fingers crossed, as his next film, Herogiri, is about to hit theatres. The actor talks to CT about his expectations from the new year and his next film.

A DULL YEAR
Last year most of the commercial films didn't do well. But I'm positive that things will change this year with Feluda and Byomkesh doing so well at the box office. I am hopeful that Herogiri, direct ed by Ravi Kinagi, will be appreciated by the audience. This is the first film in which I'll have a double role, but its USP is its hilarious script and Mithun Chakraborty , who plays my father and is always after me to make me agree to marriage. In fact, in real life too my father is keen on me getting married. It was my mother's birthday on Thursday and when I asked her what she wanted, she promptly replied, “A daughter-in-law“. So, I am in a soup.

WORKING WITH MITHUN CHAKRABORTY
Mithunda is a darling — a star of such stature, yet so grounded! He knows how to deal with people. There is always an ego hassle among two stars about who will dominate a frame, but with Mithunda, it's never that way . He always makes the other person comfortable. I learnt from him how to concentrate on making the film good as a whole, and not just on my role. Dancing with him was a pleasure.

WORKING WITH RAVI KINAGI, SAYANTIKA BANERJEE AND KOEL MALLICK
I started my career with Raviji and worked on this film with him after five years. He is more of a mentor than a director. Sayantika is a super-cool girl who will go a long way . She is a prankster like me and knows how to utilize the platform she gets. Of course, she has that oomph factor and is a terrific dancer! With Koel, I share a Tom and Jerry relationship. I have done most of my films with her and we are always pulling each other's leg on the sets. All of us have worked hard for this film.

THE HEROGIRI DEV DID IN REAL LIF
It's not my cup of tea. To me, herogiri is not about attitude, but fending for your family . I want to spend more time with my family and find a groom for my sister. And if I can do that, it would be my real herogiri. But right now, I'm waiting for the results of the efforts everyone put into this film and that will out after seven days! My fingers are crossed!
