Rituparna looking forward to ‘Mahishasur Marddini’

Rituparna Sengupta has always preferred characters that celebrate the spirit and strength in women and the silent struggles and pathos a woman has to face against patriarchy. The seasoned actor is once again ready to play one such character in Ranjan Ghosh’s next film ‘Mahishasur Marddini’.

“Mahishasur Marddini is an important film that needs to be made. In fact we need these kinds of films that reflect our society. Our film is about battling the demons rooted deep inside our patriarchal society and the plot shows how little steps can make the change, speaking for the women who suffer at the hands of patriarchy every day. In order to spread the strong message of protecting women’s rights films like Mahishasur Marddini needs to be made more and more,” explained the seasoned actor.
