Paayel replaces Anamika in Jatugriha

The supernatural thriller, Jatugriha, has been in the news for quite some time now. The unit, which is about to begin shooting in July this year, is all geared up. But there have been some shuffles, which brought up an opportunity for Paayel Sarkar but made Anamika Chakraborty feel 'disrespected'.

While the former replaced the latter, Parambrata Chattopadhyay still plays the male central character of an elderly priest. Paayel, who is looking forward to the shoot, told us, "My entire schedule is in

and I am looking forward to getting away from the city. This pandemic has been hard on all of us, and this shoot schedule is a good respite for me. Everyone is stifled but artistes like us feel the grind all the more. Besides, Parambrata is playing a character opposite me in the younger version and it's great to have him around because he guides well."

The film will have two tracks, past and present, and the story is supposed to end with a twist. While Parambrata plays the lead in both the stories, Paayel only has to play the young character. It was this character that was offered to Anamika earlier. "I was surprised with the sudden development. Especially, since they were talking about date issues. I feel, if you want to work with someone, you do find time for that anyway. But I have never seen any house announce someone's name, call for a press meet and then decide otherwise. It's disrespectful but I have wished them well," said Anamika.
