‘Bhobishyoter Bhoot’: 5 reasons to watch Anik Dutta’s dark comedy

Anik Dutta is back with his ghost gang. ‘Bhobishyoter Bhoot’, which he has repeatedly said not a sequel to ‘Bhooter Bhobishyot’ is releasing today. Anik had made the headlines when he was dragged into legal complications. Now that his film is set for theatrical release, the director has made it clear the right of ‘Bhooter Bhobishyot’ was sold without his knowledge and he knows the dark alleys of industry politics. However, just like his previous movie which became an all-time iconic blockbuster, this one will also serve a satirical tone in the disguise of simple comedy. Here we list some key points that make the film a must watch.

2/6

A superbly scripted dark satire

Anik Dutta is well known for delivering smart and sleek satires which are hard-hitting and hilarious at the same time. We are yet to forget the craze ‘Bhooter Bhobishyot’ created in 2012. Although ‘Bhobishyoter Bhoot’ is not a sequel, Dutta returns to his favourite genre with a bunch of ghosts to highlight the social issues and it has every element to be great cinematic experience for Bengali movie buffs.

3/6

Witty double-layered dialogues

It’s a proven fact. Anik Dutta weaves the dialogues just like a magician. When you talk about punch-lines, there is no one better than our ‘Bhooter Bhobishyot’ director. No doubt, the witty dialogues will be main attraction for the viewers and there’s every possibility this film might enjoy repeat audiences for the same reason. We still love to hear the witty dialogues with double meaning from the earlier film.

4/6

Engaging story

The story of ‘Bhobishyoter Bhoot’ revolves around a group of dejected ghosts. Both the story and characters are brand new. The film sees some of these ghosts takes shelter in a refugee camp. In real world they all have been cornered and are confused about where to stay. Virtual world or real world, where would they find a place to live eventually, it’s a mystery! What happens next forms the crux of this film which is slated for a release on February 15.

5/6

Ensemble cast

Just like His previous films, you won’t find any superstar in Anik Dutta's film but a bunch of experienced and talented actors who can each carry a film single-handedly. The Bengali audience will definitely have huge expectation from the cast that includes Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Suman Mukhopadhyay, Sourav Chakraborty, Barun Chanda, Kaushik Sen, Swastika Mukherjee, Moon Moon Sen, Chandreyee Ghosh and many others.

6/6

Will it be a Return of Kadalibala?

Whenever you think of ‘Bhooter Bhabishyat’, the hilariously witty conversation between a yesteryear actress Kadalibala Dasi and Sumit Samaddar’s ghost character quickly comes in mind. Swastika Mukherjee literally stole all the limelight playing Kadalibala, especially her nyaka histrionic acting. No as Anik Dutta’s second film in the bhoot series ‘Bhobishyoter Bhoot’ set to release tomorrow, February 15 everybody is wondering will there be Kadalibala in this film as well? It remains a mystery. We haven’t seen the popular ghost character in the trailer as of now and it has left the ‘Bhooter Bhabishyat’ fans a bit sad. Anik Dutta has repeatedly said his new film is not a sequel to the earlier one and has a set of new characters and story. But you never know, the director might give a big surprise bringing in Swastika for a cameo.
