‘Andarkahini’ wins Best Debut Film award in Sri Lanka

Priyanka Sarkar is on cloud nine right now. The beautiful actress as a cabaret dancer in a red off-sleeve gown was a treat to watch in the recently released Byomkesh Gowtro song ‘Bisher Dhowaye’. Here’s another good news for Bengali diva. Her critically acclaimed film ‘Andarkahini’ for which she received the Best Actress award at the Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival this year has bagged one more award.It has now won the Best Debut Film award at the Jaffna International Cinema Festival in Sri Lanka.
‘Andarkahini’, directed by Arnab Midya, has won many a million hearts in the international arena while travelling all around the world. Apart from Priyanka in the lead, it has Rajesh Sharma, Saayoni Ghosh, Soumitra Chatterjee, Anindya Chatterjee, and Nitya Ganguly in other important roles.
The narrative sees four different women and their troubled relationship with their brother, father, friend and husband. Interestingly Priyanka is playing all the four women. Each story focuses on the daily challenges these women face to save their respective relationships.
