While social media is abuzz with the gossip, speculations and rumours surrounding
Dhanush and Aishwaryaa’s separation many have questioned the different standards of society for men and women. The same questions were raised earlier as well when
Samantha Ruth Prabhu was being trolled after she parted ways with
Naga Chaitanya.
Now, amid all these razzmatazz surrounding celebrity breakups, one Tollywood actress has slammed society’s different standards for men and women.
According to actress
Paayel Sarkar, this has been the case for generations and she feels it won’t change anytime soon.
“Interestingly whenever a woman does something that’s against the tide or something different people start questioning her values, moral responsibilities. At the same time, when men do the same thing the treatment is different. I am curious why we still have to face these different standards when we live in a progressive society. I think, as a society, we have no morals fundamentally. This has been proved again when Samantha Ruth Prabhu faced such hatred on social media and again people are saying too much about the Dhanush-Aishwaryaa split,” shared an irritated Paayel who herself has been a victim of online bullying over the years. She also feels these reactions to the recent celeb separations have once again exposed this country’s revulsion to unsuccessful marriages.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Paayel has started shooting for
Raja Chanda’s next ‘Har Mana Har’ which also stars Soham and Ayoshi Talukdar in the lead.
