In Nagapattinam, M H Jawahirullah of DMK secured victory with 56,305 votes, defeating TVK’s M Sugumar by a margin of 9,781 votes. AIADMK’s Thanka Kathiravan came third with 41,586 votes, as the seat went to the DMK.
