Vellore Institute of Technology begins VITEEE 2026 Phase 3 counselling today; check ranks, dates and how to apply
Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has started the Phase 3 counselling process for VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) 2026 candidates from Wednesday, May 28.
The counselling round is meant for students who secured ranks between 45,001 and 70,000 in the engineering entrance exam, along with buffer candidates from Phase 2 who could not secure admission earlier because of preference-related issues.
VITEEE is the entrance examination conducted by VIT for admission to its BTech programmes offered across campuses including Vellore, Chennai, AP and Bhopal.
Through the counselling process, eligible students can fill in their preferred campuses and engineering branches for seat allotment based on rank, availability and category preferences.
According to the official notification, the online choice filling process for Phase 3 counselling started at 10 am on May 28 and will close at 5 pm on May 29.
Candidates have been advised to complete the process within the deadline as the counselling window is open for a limited period.
VIT said that the seat allotment result for Phase 3 counselling will be announced on May 31. Candidates who receive seats will have to complete the advance tuition fee payment between May 31 and June 6 to confirm admission.
The final deadline for payment of the remaining admission fee has been fixed as June 19.
Candidates eligible for Phase 3 counselling can log in through the official website, vit.ac.in, using their application number and password.
After signing in, students will have to pay the counselling fee to access the dashboard. They can then select their preferred campus, branch and category in descending order of preference before submitting the final list.
Students are advised to prepare a long and flexible preference list to improve their chances of getting a seat during allotment.
