Visakhapatnam: State tourism minister M Srinivasa Rao said corporate social responsibility funds will be utilised for health, drinking water and education in the district. After conducting a review with representatives of various industries, district collector Vinay Chand and Vizag MP MVV Satyanarayana, the minister said each company is supposed to spend two per cent of its total profits on CSR activities.
The funds will also be utilised in backward areas, he said. National-level companies in the district should spend CSR funds in Visakhapatnam and not other parts of the country, Srinivasa Rao said.
