TTD celebrates Republic Day
Tirupati: Celebrating the nation’s 70th Republic Day, Anil Kumar Singhal, executive officer, TirumalaTirupati Devasthanams (TTD) hoisted the national flag at the administrative building ground in Tirupati and paid tributes to freedom fighters and leaders who had sacrificed their lives for the cause of the nation, on Saturday.
Singhal listed out the various development initiatives taken by the TTD and said that the temple administration is constructing a number of temples across the country to propagate the Hindu Sanathana dharma and the Sri Venkateswara bhakti cult.

“Venkateswara Swamy temple at Kurukshetra was built at a cost of Rs 34.60 crore and was opened to the public in July 2018. Another Divyakshetram of the TTD built at Kanyakumari will be opened on January 27. Construction work for the new TTD temple at Amaravati will begin later this month after the Bhukarshana puja on Jan 31. TTD will also build Lord Venkateswara temples in the agency areas of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Rampachodavaram with an outlay of Rs 13.50 crore,” he said.
