Naidu, Mohiddhin for Open Nationals

Vijayawada: Guntur athletes AVG Krishnam Naidu and Sk Mohiddhin will represent Andhra Pradesh at the Open National Athletics Championships to be held at Bangalore from October 15 to 19. While Naidu competes in javelin throw, Mohiddhin will participate in high jump.
Fide rating chess tournament
Leelavathi Memorial All-India Open Fide Rating Chess Tournament will be held at Delhi Public School, Guntur on October 15 and 16, informed tournament director YVK Chakravarthi.In all 400 players including some from Sri Lanka are expected to participate in the Rs 5 lakh tournament. Interested should register on 9063142105 by 11 pm on October 14.
Shiva Kumar honoured
Dr M Shiva Kumar of Guntur received the Global Health Care Excellence award in the field of sports injury and arthroscopy from former India captain Sunil Gavaskar at New Delhi on Wednesday.
