Food safety officials seize stale corn at McDonald’s in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: The food safety authorities of the NTR district conducted raids at McDonald's Gurunanak Colony outlet and seized stale corn being served to customers on Friday.NTR district assistant food controller B Srinivas said that, acting on a customer complaint that stale corn was served to them, the food safety personnel seized around eight cups of stale corn, besides destroying the seized corn. He said that the McDonald's management had binned the eight corn cups served to customers before the food safety personnel arrived at the outlet. However, based on witnesses, the food safety team personnel recovered the stale corn cups from the bins and booked a case under section 53 of FSSAI Act for the violations against the outlet before the joint collector court..
