GUNTUR: Dr Jeevan Pradeep, the principal of Government Medical College (GMC) in Guntur, has urged individuals to consider posthumous organ donation, emphasizing that it can potentially save the lives of numerous individuals in need of organ transplants.

He encouraged people to overcome any reservations or emotional hesitations about organ donation, characterizing it as one of the most profound gifts one can give.

On Thursday, medical professionals, including doctors and nurses, organized a rally aimed at raising awareness about organ donation among the general public. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Pradeep highlighted the critical role that nurses, who often spend significant time with the families of patients during hospital stays, can play in promoting organ donation awareness.

He emphasized that a single brain-dead individual has the potential to breathe new life into the lives of at least 5-6 people if their family consents to organ donation. Dr. Pradeep commended families who choose to donate organs, describing them as truly noble, as their decision has the power to offer a second chance at life to multiple individuals.
