2 women charred to death as fire engulfs houses in Andhra Pradesh's Eluru district
ELURU: A tragic fire accident claimed the lives of two women in Velerupadu mandal in Eluru district, leaving two houses completely gutted. According to police, flames suddenly engulfed the AC sheets houses and spread rapidly, giving the occupants little time to escape. The two women trapped inside were unable to come out and died in the blaze. Upon receiving information, police and fire services personnel rushed to the spot and launched rescue operations. Firefighters eventually brought the flames under control. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire. One Savithri, a widower is living alone Santha Market in veleirupadu village. Her sister, Sigapulamma, sister of Savithri, resident of Suryapeta district in Telangana used to come to Veleirupadu to help her sister. She again visited her sister’s home. At 1.42 am on Tuesday, fire broke out from the house of Savithri. It is suspected that short circuit might have caused the fire accident. Within minutes, two cylinders were exploded and the fire spread to to the whole house. Unable to escape from the raging fire, Savithri and Sigapulamma were charred to death. The bodies of the deceased were badly burnt. The fire has also spread to the adjacent house which was also burnt. But, no causalities reported as there was no one in the house at the time of accident.
