VARANASI: The police, on Thursday, arrested two persons for their involvement in the double murder case that occurred in Saraigowardhan mohalla under Chetganj police station on September 21.
According to reports, Krishna Kumar Upadhyaya and his wife Mamta Upadhyaya, residents of Saraigowardhan locality, were found murdered at their home on September 21.
On the complaint of their son Sumit Kumar Upadhyaya, an FIR was lodged against their relatives Rajendra Upadhyaya, Rajat Upadhyaya, Puja Mishra of Chetganj area and Ram Vichar Upadhyaya of Ghazipur district under sections 302, 307, 504, 506, 120 B and 34 of IPC. During investigation involvement of Manchandra alias Chandan of Ghazipur and Ramesh Upadhyaya of Patrakarpuram Colony came to light.
Four teams of police were engaged to nab the accused. Acting on a tip-off, the police nabbed the two accused including Ram Vichar Upadhyaya and his son Manchandra in Chowkaghat area on Wednesday. The efforts are on to nab the other accused. The police also recovered the motorcycle and a sharp-edge weapon used in the crime.
