Gorakhpur: The Tri-Service Buddha Circuit Motorcycle Expedition concluded in Gorakhpur on Sunday with a grand flag-off ceremony held at Park Road, Civil Lines. The closing event was graced by Rajendra Prasad Yadav, deputy director, UP Tourism (Gorakhpur), along with expedition coordinator Rahul Laxman Patil.Officers from the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force took part in the special expedition, organised with institutional support from BIMSTEC Secretariat, Nalanda University and Land Ports Authority of India. The initiative was aimed at promoting regional cooperation and cultural diplomacy.Traversing sacred Buddhist sites and strategic towns, the expedition carried forward Lord Buddha's eternal message of peace, harmony and unity. It also sought to strengthen civilizational, cultural and people-to-people ties across South Asian nations. The final flag-off from Gorakhpur marked the culmination of the India-leg of the 5,000 km tri-nation journey — a symbolic tribute to the shared Buddhist heritage and an enduring inspiration for humanity.
