BHU vice-chancellor visits South Campus Barkachha

Varanasi: Banaras Hindu University vice-chancellor Sudhir K Jain visited South Campus Barkachha in Mirzapur on Sunday and took stock of various developmental activities and programs there. It was Prof Jain’s first visit to the South Campus since he assumed the office.
During his visit he said that the BHU has to be proactive in playing its social part and underlined the need to focus on skill development and capacity building courses for locals, especially the rural population.
The VC was accompanied by rector Prof V K Shukla, in charge South Campus Prof V K Mishra and otersThe VC interacted with faculty members and staff of the South Campus. Prof Mishra told the VC that the campus meets its water requirements by using rain water harvesting and added that the campus plans to grow lemon grass and medicinal plants which may generate revenue. tnn
