Two more officials likely on Vadodara PM e-Bus SPV board
Vadodara: The Vadodara Municipal Corporation’s (VMC) Standing Committee will consider a proposal on June 5 to expand the board of directors of the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) being formed for implementation of the Centre’s PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme in the city.
The proposal, moved by the municipal commissioner, seeks approval to induct two additional VMC officials — the chief accountant and the head of department (City Bus Project) — into the SPV board as directors.
According to the civic body, the inclusion of the two officials is necessary in view of the operational framework and guidelines of the PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme.
The SPV is being set up to oversee the operation and management of electric and hybrid city bus services in Vadodara and adjoining areas. It will function as the nodal agency for implementation of the PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme and handle related administrative, financial and contractual responsibilities.
The proposal cites resolutions passed by the Standing Committee and the General Board in 2023, under which the formation of the SPV and appointment of its directors had already been approved.
The existing board comprises the municipal commissioner as chairman, the deputy municipal commissioner as managing director and CEO, the chairman of the Standing Committee, the city engineer, deputy commissioner of police (traffic), chief executive officer of VUDA and the regional transport officer. If approved, the reconstituted board will have nine members.
