Mutharaiyar community decides to back DMK

Trichy: The Veera Mutharaiyar Munnetra Sangam, a welfare association , the largest community in Trichy and neighbouring districts, has expressed solidarity with the DMK while criticising the health minister for his alleged invectives aimed at a functionary belonging to the community.

President of the association K Selvakumar brought up the controversial incident at a DMK election rally in Trichy which was addressed by DMK president M Karunanidhi on Wednesday. "Our community will fully stand by the DMK because we strongly object to the insult to our community by the health minister who won because of votes of people of all communities," said Selvakumar.
