Autorickshaw driver dies in accident

Trichy: An autorickshaw driver died on Friday after his vehicle overturned near the Cauvery bridge in Trichy.P Manikandan, 46, from Periyakadai Veethi, was transporting passengers from Sanjeev Nagar towards Chathiram bus stand on March 28. When the vehicle was near the Cauvery bridge, Manikandan lost control of the vehicle, which overturned. Manikadan suffered severe injuries while the passengers escaped with minor injuries.Upon receiving information, police rushed to the spot, transported Manikandan to Trichy GH. However, he died on Friday night without responding to treatment.The traffic north police registered a case under sections 281 (rash driving), 106(1) (causing death by negligence), and 125 (endangering life) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and are investigating.
