Thiruvananthapuram: Students in all schools across the state will take a cybersafety pledge on Monday, opening day of the new academic year, as part of a statewide initiative to raise awareness about dangers and challenges of digital world.The programme is being implemented under Kerala police cyber division’s Kid Glove project, an initiative aimed at ensuring safety of children in cyberspace. The project focuses on promoting safe and responsible use of digital platforms while educating students about cyberthreats, online gaming risks, fake news, privacy protection, digital addiction, cyber hygiene, social media safety and responsible digital behaviour.As part of the initiative, state police, in collaboration with education department, will provide basic cybersecurity training to teachers and parents. Awareness activities, including quizzes and other interactive programmes, will also be organized to enhance cyber literacy among students and wider school community.Govt has issued directives to all educational officers to ensure effective implementation and continued monitoring of the project across the state. Officials said the initiative is intended to equip students with knowledge and skills required to navigate digital world safely and responsibly at a time when online engagement among children is increasing rapidly.
