On Independence day, Kerala CM makes house visit to create awareness on waste management

and distributed pamphlets on waste management. Chief minister also explained various modes of waste management to residents and spent time with them discussing ways of reducing household waste. He said that the government will ensure steps suited for each household to process waste.

As per Freedom from waste campaign, each local body has been directed to prepare waste management plan for respective areas based on data gathered from house survey. The inauguration of execution of various waste management schemes will be held on November 1. The mission aims at accomplishing all waste management initiatives by third week of March in 2018, said T N Seema, vice-chairperson, Haritha Keralam mission.
