Minister helps mother-daughter duo in financial dispute case
Thiruvananthapuram: Minister V Sivankutty came to the assistance of a mother and daughter who were in financial distress after failing to recover the advance payment made to a man for running a homestay. The minister instructed the police to take immediate action on the matter.Naseera Beevi and her daughter Nevin Sulthana, residents of Nedumangad, entered into an agreement with Shaiju Abbas on July 10 to operate a homestay in a building on Gandhari Amman Kovil Road near Thampanoor. They claim to have paid an advance of Rs 5 lakh. However, they allege that Abbas did not complete the building's construction or pay for water and electricity on time. Despite them requesting him several times to return the advance amount, Shaiju reportedly refused to comply. Following this, Naseera and her daughter approached the minister with their complaint. Subsequently, the minister, along with minister G R Anil and I B Satheesh, MLA, visited the site to investigate the matter. Arrangements for food and other assistance for the family were made through the party workers. The ministers assured that the police would take urgent action on the issue.
