Kalyan Loksabha MP and Son of CM Eknath Shinde to get Sansad Ratna Award

KALYAN: The member of Parliament from Kalyan Lok Sabha, Dr. Shrikant Eknath Shinde, will be conferred with the prestigious Sansad Ratna Awards for his performance in the 17th Lok Sabha.

Dr Shrikant Shinde is amongst the top 5 performing member's of Parliament from 2019 to 2023 and has asked 556 questions, participated in 67 debates and introduced 12 private member's bill.

Three time MP Dr Shrikant Shinde is the son of Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde.

Shrikant Shinde has also created a clean and hard-working leader’s image in Lok Sabha.

He has been selected for this award for his overall performance in the 17th Lok Sabha and will be amongst the 12 distinguished parliamentarians who will be receiving the award for their outstanding performance in the Parliament.

These awards are based on comprehensive performance, with nominees selected by a distinguished Jury Committee chaired by Arjun Ram Meghwal, minister of state for law and parliamentary affairs, and T. S. Krishnamurthy, Former Chief Election Commissioner of India.

The performance data is sourced from the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha websites and the PRS Legislative Research.

This is said to be the only award presented by civil society to honour the top-performing parliamentarians in India.

The award is given by Prime Point Foundation which is a non-profit charitable trust constituted in 1999. Sansad Ratna Awards are given every year to the top performers of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members based on performance parameters.
