Parked vehicles block Bagalur bus stand entrance; passengers demand action
KRISHNAGIRI: Passengers alleged that parked goods vehicles and two-wheelers prevented buses from entering the Bagalur bus stand near Hosur, forcing buses to halt on the busy Hosur–Sarjapuram Road. The Bagalur bus stand, described by commuters as a vital transit hub linking Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, serves more than 10,000 people every day, including villagers, students and farmers. Passengers said the absence of buses inside the facility created chaos, with commuters waiting on the roadside amid heavy traffic and the risk of accidents.“We are standing on the road for buses that should be coming to the stand. It is unsafe and inconvenient,” said H Govindasamy, a passenger. The Hosur–Bagalur Road connects travellers to Berigai, towns in Karnataka and onward to Andhra Pradesh. Commuters said diverting buses to the main road worsened congestion in the stretch, where heavy vehicles ply in large numbers.Residents and commuters urged authorities to take immediate steps to clear encroachments and ensure buses arrived and departed from the designated bus stand.
