Dumka: Three persons, including a head constable of
Jharkhand Police, were killed in a head-on collision between two motorbikes in Sahibganj district on Saturday. Another person was also injured in the accident, which took place on Borio–Teenpahar Main Road near Dhaugra Imli Gachh under Borio police station limits.
Head constable Hriday Kumar Sarkar, 40, was posted in Godda district. A resident of Udhwa in Sahibganj district, Sarkar was headed home on his motorbike. At the same time, 20-year-old Miraj Ansari, a resident of Vrindavan under Borio police station limits, was headed towards Danwar from the opposite direction to meet his relatives. Miraj was riding with his friends Sanaul Ansari, 25, and Sahil Ansari, 19.
At around 9 am, the two motorbikes lost control and collided with each other near a sharp turn at Dhaugra Imli Gachh. Hriday and Miraj were killed on the spot. Sahil, who also sustained injuries, died during treatment. Sanaul, who was admitted to sadar hospital, remained stable, on-duty doctors said. Eyewitness and first responders informed the police that none were wearing helmets.
Prabhashankar Dubey, assistant sub-inspector at Borio police station, said, “The bodies were sent to Sahibganj Sadar Hospital for postmortem examination. An investigation is currently underway.”
