HAZARIBAG: Chief secretary Ashok Kumar Singh, who made a surprise visit here on his way to Ranchi from Patna on Monday, lashed out at senior officials for their alleged failure to implement some pending schemes since 2005.
In this connection, he cited the non-implementation of the Rashtriya Shram Vikash Yojana schemes, which are still lying incomplete.
The chief secretary also rebuked some top officials of the district who in league with political parties allegedly played dirty politics removed the deputy commissioner recently instead of expediting development schemes
He added that Hazaribag is one of the districts, which is witnessing worst ever drought for which they need immediate relief and speedy implementation of development schemes.
Pointing out towards a very senior official, the chief secretary said he would not tolerate any politics among officials and warned that if the things do not improve immediately he would not spare them and take drastic action. He said no official is above the government decisions and policies and they will have to pay attention towards their duties.
However, new deputy commissioner Ravindra Kumar Agarwal assured the chief secretary that he will see that utmost attention are paid to the relief to the drought-affected people. He said since he joined less than a fortnight ago, he will review the position of all pending schemes and see that they are implemented properly.
Prominent among those who were present with the chief secretary included Agarwal, DDC N N Singh, SP Pankaj Kamboj and several other officials.
