Ranchi: The police headquarters' control room, under supervision of Inspector General (Operation) Amol Homkar, monitored Sunday's Ram Navami celebrations across the state. "No untoward incidents have been reported from any part of the state till evening," Homkar said.
Deputy commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri said that preparations for peaceful celebrations had been ongoing for two weeks, with magistrates and security forces deployed at sensitive locations. Security measures were comprehensive, with drones monitoring sensitive areas from early afternoon and CCTV cameras providing additional surveillance.
The administration established multiple control rooms, including the main composite control room operating 24x7 and sub-control rooms at key locations such as Albert Ekka Chowk, Doranda police station, Bariatu PS, and Ekra Masjid Chowk. The district administration had requested organisers to commence processions at 1 pm and complete their journey to Tapovan temple by 7 pm.
The celebration demonstrated a perfect blend of religious fervor and administrative preparedness, with devotees adhering to guidelines while carrying traditional flags and performing demonstrations only in designated open spaces. The successful management of such a large-scale religious gathering highlighted the effective coordination between local authorities and community organizers, ensuring a peaceful and joyous celebration of Ramnavmi in the state capital.
