3 locket snatchers held in Palamu

Daltonganj: Town police on Saturday arrested three criminals who used to snatch lockets using blade and recovered two lockets. Sadar DSP Rajesh Yadav said that on May 26, a man used a shaving blade and snatched a gold locket of a girl child in Daltonganj. She was with her maternal uncle in a busy market place. The girl got badly injured and received a dozen stitches, police sources said.

Following an FIR, police began probe by scanning CCTV footages of the area to get a breakthrough. “Those arrested were identified as Sanu and Sameer (both brothers) and one Surya Pratap Kumar. The brothers hailed from a village under Harihurganj police station while Kumar is from Daltonganj. All are in early 20s,” he said adding that they have been sent to judicial custody today. “We are trying to trace the owner of another locket which was recovered from them,” he said.
