26 year old man drowns
Hazaribag: A 26-year-old man drowned while bathing in Tilaiya Dam under Barhi police station limits on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Afroz Ansari, a resident of Dulmaha village in Barhi block. According to information, Afroz had gone to the dam with six of his friends at around 10.30 am for bathing. During the process, he allegedly ventured into deep waters and started drowning. His friends tried to rescue him but failed. Hearing their cries for help, local residents rushed to the spot. Ashok Singh, a resident of Karma village entered the water and brought him out. Villagers immediately rushed Afroz to Barhi Sub-Divisional Hospital on a motorcycle, where doctors declared him dead after examination. Barhi police station officer-in-charge Vinod Kumar said, “The body was handed over to the family after postmortem. Further probe is on.”
