Banas Farmers inks MoU with NCEL to enhance exports
Palanpur: Banas Farmers, a sister organisation of Banas Dairy, signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with the National Cooperative Exports Limited (NCEL), aimed at enhancing export opportunities for cooperative products and creating greater value for farmers and livestock rearers across the cooperative network.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Shankar Chaudhary, Speaker of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly and Chairman of Banas Dairy at Mussorie on June 2, the dairy stated in an official release on Thursday.
NCEL was set up with the aim of connecting India’s cooperative institutions with global markets.
“Through this strategic collaboration, agricultural commodities including cumin, groundnut and other agro-products will gain wider access to international markets, enabling better price realization, value addition and sustainable income growth for farmers,” Chaudhary said.
NCEL managing director Anupom Kausik said the agreement was an important step towards strengthening India’s cooperative export framework and advancing the national vision of “Sahakar Se Samriddhi”.
The partnership is expected to foster collaboration across procurement, processing, branding, packaging, quality certification and international marketing.
The agreement exemplifies how collaborative efforts among cooperative institutions can unlock new avenues of growth and prosperity for farming communities. By leveraging shared strengths, resources and expertise, the partnership is expected to contribute significantly to farmer welfare and the long-term growth of India’s cooperative movement.
