Om Birla hails CG’s democratic conduct
Raipur: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Saturday lauded the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly for upholding the highest standards of democracy and serving as a model for legislative conduct across the country. In his very brief speech at the inauguration of the new Vidhan Sabha Bhawan in Nava Raipur, Birla commended the state legislature for maintaining dignity in debates, ensuring meaningful discussions, and safeguarding democratic traditions over the past 25 years.Welcoming PM Modi to the historic occasion, Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh said it was a matter of great pride for Chhattisgarh to host the nation's leader who demonstrated remarkable courage and vision in nation-building."We welcome the Prime Minister who ushered in a new era of governance—one who resolved to abrogate Article 370, strengthen national unity, and eradicate Maoism. His leadership transformed millions of lives, bringing hope and prosperity to the poor," Dr Singh said. Describing the newly inaugurated Vidhan Sabha as a "Harit Bhawan" (green building), Dr Singh said the complex not only represents modern architectural excellence but also reinforces environmental consciousness and sustainable governance. "This is not just a green building; it enhances the pride of Chhattisgarh and symbolises its progressive spirit," he said.
