As per state health officials, at present, the presence of Omicron variant of Corona has not been found in people coming from abroad in Chhattisgarh. The genome sequencing report of two people from Bilaspur who returned from the United Kingdom (UK) and Maldives, who were reported corona positive, has been reported negative for Omicron or not of any new variant. This report has come after a week.

Director of Pandemic Control in Chhattisgarh, Subhash Mishra said that from November 27 to December 10, around 953 people have come to Chhattisgarh from abroad. Everyone has been quarantined and the report of two people from Bilaspur came corona positive. Their samples were sent to Bhubaneswar for genome sequencing. After investigation, his report was received on Saturday. The Omicron variant of Corona has not been found in both samples.

In view of the movement of people, the need to take precautions has increased. The health official asserted on observing covid appropriate behavior.
