Hidma's terror ends, peace returning to Bastar: CM Sai
Raipur: "For years, Hidma was the face of bloodshed, violence and fear in Bastar. His end today is not just the success of one operation, but a heavy blow to red terror, and it further strengthens our commitment to establishing lasting peace in the region," stated Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai, hours after Hidma's encounter reports poured in on Tuesday.
"In a successful operation by security forces on the Chhattisgarh–Andhra Pradesh border, neutralisation of top Maoist leader and Central Committee member Madvi Hidma along with six Maoists is a decisive achievement in our fight against Naxalism and we salute the indomitable courage of our security personnel for this," CM Sai said.
In the past months, the surrender of hundreds of Naxalites, arrests of top cadres and a series of successful operations show that Naxalism is now breathing its last.
We are confident that with the joint strategy of the Centre and the state, India will be completely free of Naxalism by March 2026, Sai added.
