Chhattisgarh: CRPF personnel injured in IED blast in Maoist-hit Sukma district

RAIPUR: A CRPF personnel was severely injured in an IED blast during an area domination operation in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district on Sunday afternoon.

According to police, the incident occurred around 1:45 pm in the hilly forest area near Gogunda village in the Phulbagdi region, when personnel from the 74th Battalion of the CRPF were on a routine patrol. The explosion left one jawan with serious injuries to his leg.


The injured trooper was administered immediate first aid at the site and later airlifted by helicopter to Raipur for advanced medical treatment.

Following the blast, security forces launched an intensive search operation in the area to track Maoist movement. Police said further action against the Maoists involved in the attack is being initiated by Phulbagdi police, and a detailed report will be released soon.
