RAIPUR: Three Maoists, carrying a combined cash reward of Rs 14 lakh, surrendered before Dantewada police in Bastar under the Lon Varratu (return to home) campaign on Friday.

Dantewada SP Abhishek Pallava said that all three were involved in criminal and violent activities since long while

Raju Tati

had a bounty of Rs 8 lakh on his head,

Jeera Alaami

and

Kumma Barse

carried Rs 5 lakh and Rs 1 lakh cash reward respectively.

While Raju alias

Rosha Tati

was one of the dreaded Maoists involved in killings of many security personnel, he was also known for video recording those incidents. He was serving as deputy chief of Dandakaranya special zonal Chetna Natya Manch and was involved in Kasalpad encounter in Sukma in 2014 that claimed lives of 14 jawans. He also played an active role in Burkapal incident in 2015 that claimed lives of 25 security personnel in Sukma.

He and his aides decided to give up violence as they got inspired by the other surrendered cadres, wg=ho are now living a good life.

had murdered a sarpanch of Handawada village in 2020 as he had demanded development in the region.
