PUNE: Shrirang Barne,
Shiv Sena MP from Maval constituency, and
Supriya Sule, NCP MP from Baramati, will receive the Sansad Ratna award for asking maximum number of questions in the Parliament.
The award has been instituted by Chennai-based NGO Prime Point Foundation. “Since 2009, the NGO has been giving awards to MPs based on their performance. The winners are selected by a high level committee,” president of the foundation K Srinivasan said.
Four other MPs will also receive the award in July in Chennai.
Barne asked 314 questions and bagged 355 points. Nishikant Dubey,
BJP MP from Rajasthan, will receive the award for tabling the highest number of private members bills. Sule will receive the ‘Sansad Ratna Mahila-2015’ award.
