2 more succumb to swine flu in Pune

PUNE: Two more persons, including a resident of Pune Cantonment, succumbed to swine flu between Sunday and Monday, taking the number of H1N1 casualties in Pune city to 120 this year, so far.
A 34-year-old woman from Pune Cantonment developed influenza-like illness on September 4. She had fever with cough, throat pain, nausea and breathlessness. She initially sought medical treatment from a private medical practitioner.

She was later admitted to Inamdar Hospital where she was put on ventilator. She suffered a cardiac arrest and was declared dead around 7.30am on Sunday.
A 32-year-old man from Rase village in Khed taluka developed influenza-like illness on September 3. He initially sought treatment from a private hospital in Chakan. He was later referred to Ruby Hall Clinic where he died following a cardiac arrest around 9.30am on Monday. Both the victims had tested positive for swine flu. tnn
